ABOUT US

Lakeside High School Counseling Dept. aims to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that supports students' academic, career and social/emotional development.

The National Standards for School Counseling Programs, developed by the American School Counselor Association, (ASCA), provides the framework on which the Lakeside program is based. Lakeside's professional school counselors believe that the counseling program:

  • promotes and enhances the learning process.

  • is an integral component of the academic mission of the school.

  • helps students develop knowledge and skills needed in today's and tomorrow's world.

  • is for all students, not just those going to college or in crisis.

  • ensures equitable access to counseling services for all students.
